New ways to feel at home

• Your clipboard, a few copies back. Win+V now opens WinExpat’s own clipboard shelf. Search recent text, links, images, and code; preview a clip, paste without formatting, or pin something you’ll need again. Browse with the keyboard or drag a clip into another app. Recent history stays in memory, while pins are saved on your Mac. You can pause capture or clear recent clips; copies from supported password managers and those marked confidential are skipped. Enable Win+V in Settings → Shortcuts.
• Alt+F4, your way. Choose whether Alt+F4 closes the current tab or window (Cmd+W), quits the whole app (Cmd+Q), or keeps the original behavior: close the window and quit if it’s the last one. Select Alt+F4 in Settings → Shortcuts to choose. Holding the keys down won’t repeatedly close tabs.
• Launch apps with Win+R. Open Spotlight’s Applications view, then browse or type an app name and press Return. On macOS versions before Tahoe, it opens Launchpad. Enable Win+R in Settings → Shortcuts.
• A Globe key for your Windows keyboard. Turn Caps Lock into the Mac’s Globe key for shortcuts such as Globe+E for emoji and Globe+F for full screen. Enable it in Settings → Shortcuts. Programmable keyboards can also use F19 as Globe over a remote connection with additional setup.
• More familiar copy, paste, and cut keys. Ctrl+Insert copies, Shift+Insert pastes, and Shift+Delete cuts. They also work in terminals, where Ctrl+C needs to remain an interrupt. In Finder, Shift+Delete followed by Shift+Insert moves files when Finder’s cut-and-move option is enabled.
• Choose what to capture with Shift+PrtScn. Open the Mac’s Screenshot toolbar to capture a selected area, a window, or the screen. PrtScn and Alt+PrtScn still copy the screen or current window directly.

Smoother switching and remote access

• Dock previews keep up with your windows. Open previews update as windows open, close, change title, or are minimized. Quitting an app dismisses its preview. Moving from a Dock icon to its thumbnails is less likely to switch the preview to a neighboring app by accident.
• Return to the full-screen window you picked. Switching to a full-screen window on another desktop is more reliable, including when Edge also has an ordinary window open. Full-screen video previews retain the last visible frame instead of replacing it with a blank color when you switch away.
• Cleaner, more reliable window previews. Empty helper windows are filtered out of Alt+Tab, Dock Peek, and Snap Assist. A temporary capture failure preserves a good thumbnail, and previews handle several newly opened windows more smoothly.
• Back and Forward work correctly over Parsec. Fixed mouse side buttons going forward when you pressed Back, or doing nothing when you pressed Forward. The correction applies to Parsec connections and is enabled by default.

Version 1.0

Released August 5, 2026

The first 1.0 release brought Windows muscle memory to the Mac: Alt+Tab with window previews, Dock Peek, window snapping with Snap Assist, and familiar shortcuts for editing, Finder, screenshots, and window management. Optional Mac-way hints help you learn the native equivalents as you go.

Available for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS Sonoma or later, with in-app update checks. Free, with no account required.
